Hi, page 7 on the HILTI HIT HY 200 tech sheet Tech-HIT-HY-200-R-V3-2023-en-Technical-information-ASSET-DOC-11768542.pdf (hilti.com.au) shows that for applications where seismic C2 is required (most strucutural applications in australia according to this website Seismic Design - Hilti Australia , the minimum HAS-U anchor diameter and embedment is M16 and 125mm. When I go to do a design on HILTI PROFIS it doesnt display any errors even if I select M12 HAS-U anchors with 70mm embedment. Is that an error in the software?
Thanks
Jon
Hello Jon,
Thank you for reaching out to Hilti.
Please note that the data mentioned in technical data sheet is based on few conditions such as single anchor, no edge distance or spacing influence, minimum base material thickness, 20 MPa concrete grade, etc.
Hence, if you are looking at the exact behavior of the anchor's group for a given edge condition or want to check the influence due to edge or anchor spacing with different grades of the concrete I would suggest you to design the connection using Profis Engineering so that you can get the actual behavior the connection.
Profis design model is based on the ETA (European Technical Assessment) and for HIT HY 200 R V3 we have “ETA-19/0601”. As per ETA-19/0601 Page 49 you will find under HY 200 V3 R that we can use M12 HAS-U anchor for seismic which means Profis Engineering is showing you the correct solution.
Please see screen shots from technical data sheet and ETA-19/0601 attached.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
