Thank you for requesting the Hilti onsite testing services

Our team will reach out to you within 24 hours to organise the testing and discuss a price indication based on estimated hours required.

Please note that this is a formal paid service provided by Hilti Australia with digital equipment and reporting.

Please ensure that the site/application is prepared for the service.

Which anchors and loads we can test, as well as the types of tests

Anchors and loads that can be tested:

We have a range of testing tools that can be used to test Hilti anchors with the characteristics below:

·        Threaded Rods:                                           Up to M36 and 370 kN

·        Rebar:                                                           Up to N34 and 370 kN, and

·        Mechanical Anchors & Fastenings:          Mechanical Anchors, up to 30  50kN (depending on anchor type and tester availability at the required location)

Two main types of tension tests can be performed on site:

  1. Ultimate load test [where the quality of substrate is unknown], and
  2. Proof Load test

·        NB 1: 98% of our tests are Proof Load Tests, as in, Proof of Installation Quality – with a successful tension load test)

·        NB 2: We do not undertake shear load testing.

SITE CONDITIONS

Some conditions that may affect the ability perform the testing, or the cost for the service include:

1.      Site Induction(s): Inform in advance of any Site Induction requirements, times & location

2.      Safety: Ensure a safe working environment

3.      Access: Consider any access requirements & coordinate EWP with licensed operator

4.      PPE: Please inform Hilti Tester if gumboots are required (in case of mud), or other non-standard PPE are required

5.      Installation: Please ensure all anchors have been installed prior to the test, and that Hilti Chemical Anchors have fully cured, otherwise the test may be cancelled or postponed

6.      Threaded Rods: More accurate testing is performed on anchor rods which have not been loaded with fixtures/plates; Nuts, washers, plates, fixings, duct tape etc should be removed from the rods by the customer prior to the start of the testing session

7.      RebarWe require a straight bar with a minimum of 350-400mm above the concrete surface

8.      Site Support: A customer representative of the client shall accompany testing staff and know the location of the anchors to be tested, witness the process, and counter sign the QA report

9.      Lead-in Times: Up to 5 working days’ notice is preferred for scheduling purposes but does vary depending on demand

10.    Testing loads: Should be validated by the responsible design engineer prior to the testing date

RESULTS AND PRICING

Each on site test will be followed by a quote for the cost of the service. Once a PO is generated, you receive:

  • A formal Anchor Test Report
  • Photographs of the results, and
  • Tool Calibration information
