In accordance with AS3850.1, screw bolts are not permitted for propping anchors. Based on the Hilti information of HUS4-H screw anchor stated applications can be tilt up connectors.
Is the HUS4-H anchor a deformation-controlled anchor or a screw bolt? And is it or is it not restricted per AS3850.1?
Hi Leonel,
Thank you for contacting Hilti.
You are correct, screw anchors, like the HUS4-H, are not recommended for wind propping applications according to section 2.5.3 of AS 3850.1 as only undercut, expansion or chemical anchors are allowed. Our HUS range is only recommended for applications outside of the scope of AS 3850.1, including temporary formwork and non-structural props.
For wind propping or structural brace installations in accordance with AS3850.1, our HBI anchors (more information here) have a special approval according to this specific code.
