Design load and embedment depth

Hi,

I would like to know when we input the design load and sustained load in Profis, should these loads (sustained or design loads) be factored load or unfactored load?

Another question is can I manually adjust the embedment depth of the HUS-4 anchor in profis to suit the design?

Kind regards,
Frankie

Hi Frankie,

Thank you for contacting Hilti.

The loads to be used in Profis Engineering should be ULS loads (also called factored loads).

Regarding your question about the embedment depth for HUS-4 anchors, it's important to highlight that most mechanical anchors have embedment limitations related to the embedment length. Please refer to our website to check the lengths available for the diameter you're selecting >> HUS4-HF Screw anchor - Mechanical Anchors - Hilti Australia

For more flexibility on embedment depth, you could consider a chemical anchor or the new HST4 (HST4-R Stainless steel wedge anchor - Mechanical Anchors - Hilti Australia), depending on your application requirements.

I hope above is helpful, but please reach out to our technical support team if you'd like to discuss specific project applications >> Technical Advice Services - Hilti Australia

Kind regards,
