Chem anchors for granite

Chem anchors for granite

Hi
How much uplift load capacity can I get from using the chemical anchors for fixing to granite?
Can I consider it like regular concrete (base material) when I check the capacity on Profis Engineering?
Additionally, what is the M16 chem anchor's clearance hole required for granite?
Thanks a lot,

Hi Emma,

Thank you for contacting Hilti.

The approval documents (ETA documents) we have for our anchors don't cover granite as a base material as granite isn't covered by the testing criteria available in the relevant EAD (European Assessment Documents).

However, Hilti has internal test data for RE 500 V4 with rebar into different types of natural stones as shown in the attached document. Since this falls outside both the Australian Standards and the ETA documents, the design will need to be based on an engineering judgement after careful assessment of your particular application.

You can log a design a request with Hilti using THIS LINK and one of our team members will get in touch with you regarding your application.

I hope this helps. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions.

Kind regards,
