WE HAVE USE RE 500 CHEMICAL ANCHORING IN OUR FURNACE BASE PLATE WHICH HAS HIGH TEMPRATURE DURING S R CYCLE I.E. 150-200 DEGREE CENTIGRADE.
Hi Viral,
Thanks for contacting Hilti and showing trust in Hilti Products & Solutions.
Hilti adhesive HIT-RE 500v3 is approved for the In-service Temperature range I: -40 °C to +40 °C (max. long term temperature +24 °C and max. short term temperature +40 °C) and Temperature range II: -40 °C to +70 °C (max. long term temperature +43 °C and max. short term temperature +70 °C).
This means that the concrete & ambient temperature range for short term should not exceed +70 °C and you can install the anchor system within the temperature ranges as given above. The bond strength will vary as per the temperature range I & II as above.
Hilti HIT-RE 500v3 is also approved for fire rating i.e. once the anchor is installed and there is exposure to fire, then the anchor resistance capacity reduces under the ISO fire curve for tested fire hour ratings. Please refer page no. 13 of the the attached Fire approval. The highest fire rating for RE 500v3 is for 2 hours for threaded rods with diameter range of M8 to M30 with varied embedment depths.
If the base plate and anchors are exposed to long term high temperatures, then the use of adhesive anchors are not recommended.
