Anchoring into rock

Anchoring into rock

We need to anchor some tunnel forms into rock behind to resist concrete lateral pressure during concreting. The anchor loads very from 100 to 140 kN (working loads). We are thinking to use Z bars with Hilti HIT-RE 500V3 epoxy. The rock is classified mostly sandstone types 2 and 3.
Can you please advise whether it is a right product for the application and can be used for such a long embedment depth (could be in meters) that may be required to resist the imposed tensile load?
If not any other products that can be used for this application?
Do you have any guidance for use of your products into rock?
Very much appreciate any help that you can provide.
Kind regards
Sam

Hello Sam,

Thank you for reaching out to Hilti.

For anchoring into rock, the product we would generally recommend to use is the HIT-RE 500 V4. The following post helps answer your question >> Anchoring in Rock

In addition to the above mentioned answer, for deep injections, we recommend the use of Hilti Piston Plugs (LINK), to ensure uniform and adequate chemical within the hole.

If you’d like to discuss you application in further detail, please reach out to our Engineering team >> here
