Max permissble torgue for M16 A4-70 (stainless steel) adhsive anchor

Hi Team. I am going to use HVU2 Mortar capsule with your M16 A4-70 (stainless steel) adhesive anchor. Based on your technical sheet I can apply max 80N.m torque to the anchor to avoid splitting failure during installation. But, my question is that when the adhesive is cured. Based on the M16 A4-70 studs/bolts I can apply up to 130N.m in the lubricated tread condition. So, would you please let me know whether the cured adhesive is strong enough to withstad that 130 N.m torque?
Cheers,
Mo

Hi Mo,

Thank you for your query. If I understand correctly, you are wondering if a higher torque than 80Nm can be applied to the HVU2 M16. Short answer is that this is not recommended, the max torque limit for chemical anchors is for the torque applied after full curing as chemical anchors do not need and should not have torque applied before the full curing time has been observed. Applying a higher torque than this leads to possible damaging of the concrete as well as the bond between the chemical and the rod.

If you have any specific design cases you would like to discuss on this topic, please feel free to continue the discussion here or alternatively you can also reach us via our Anchor Design Services
