M20 GRADE 8 EYEBOLT SPECIFICATIONS

Hello, i need to anchor M20 threaded rod chemically into rock i have checked the embedment length into rock, i need to check the eyebolt(ring it self) as shown in attached photo ,can you please provide the M20 eyebolt capacity table?

Hi Mariana,

Apologies for the delayed response,

Hilti unfortunately doesn’t manufacture separate eye bolts for chemical installation and the only lifting lug type product is the HAP 1.15 and HAP 2.5 which is installed with 4 HST3 mechanical expansion anchors and is rated for 1.15t and 2.5 working load limit, respectively. In addition, you mentioned Rock anchoring. As you may know, none of the national or international anchor design code covers anchoring into natural stone. However, based on internal testing and third-party research data we have, we suggest using HIT RE 500 V3 for anchoring applications into rocks including sandstone. However, the capacity depends on the material properties of the base material (that is, the Class / Type of sandstone). If you require more information on rock anchoring, please let us know and we can provide you with some additional information for your team to review.

Since you are looking at chemical anchor solution, the best we could provide is the use of our HIS-N internally threaded rods which can accommodate a separately sourced eye bolt with a metric thread. However, the smallest size requires an embedment depth of 90mm. Please check if the 90mm is viable and we can go ahead and perform further checks to see if the single point will be sufficient to take the maximum load you need. The load capacities will depend on the concrete base material as well (factors such as concrete strength, concrete thickness, any close edge distances etc).

Other option is, if you are able to source a metric threaded rod with an eye nut, we could use that instead of the HIS-N connection.

Please let us know which option you would like and I can run a design example check on our PROFIS design software to see if the anchor point will take the load (for concrete fixing)

Kind regards,
