Webinar - Anchor design Theory

in accordance with SA TS 101

Diving deep into Sa TS 101

SA TS 101 is a technical standard introduced to the National Construction Code in 2016. The scope of this standard provides guidance into the design of post-installed and cast-in fastenings for use in concrete.

SA TS 101 is comprehensive, as it promotes satisfactory practise across mechanical, chemical and cast-in anchor channel use. Naturally, different applications and load types can make the design process more difficult and the required calculations sufficiently complex.

  • Background and scope of SA TS 101
  • Compliance requirements for anchor design
  • Common failure modes
  • How to turn anchor design theory into best practice

This presentation takes a deep dive into SA TS 101, looking closely at the model behind the standard and how it works. While we'll be touching on the specifics of SA TS 101, we won't be going into the fine details of every formula. Rather, we'll be looking into the physical processes and layouts, while examining the different failure modes in order to provide a better understanding and approach to anchor design. Our presentation will include troubleshooting common causes for failed designs and the methods by which those can be reworked to meet the guidelines of SA TS 101.

The anchor design theory webinar will be delivered by Hilti Australia's own Mike Coburn, a Senior Field Engineer with decades of experience working with engineers and specifiers, overseeing projects and providing support for all manner of technical processes. Mike is also the head of Hilti Australia's Technical Excellent Centre, where our team utilises their expertise in providing fast and reliable technical advice. Due to Mike's wealth of experience and vast technical knowledge, participants will be in good hands.

Participating in our anchor design theory webinar is a great opportunity for structural, facade and civil engineers to get up to date with SA TS 101 and sharpen their skills in anchor design. We supply you with a participation certificate after the webinar, which are eligible for CPD points. Additionally, we'll have a team of technical experts available via live chat to answer any questions you have in real-time.
