REDUCING THE RISKS

Our February webinar will provide designers, engineers and supervisors with assistance in reducing the risks associated with incorrect installation of anchor systems. Advice will cover deviations to correct installation methods from placement errors, using the wrong products, or using the wrong methods for drilling, cleaning and injecting. The webinar will outline best practices in line with the technical standard SA TS 101 of the National Construction Code.

KEY RISKS

There are a number of risks to be aware of in this process, from initial design all the way through to installation. The risks include but are not limited to: 

  • Drilling into existing services, reinforcement materials or voids in the concrete
  • Using non-approved products.
  • Specifying a product that isn't compatible with the drilling method.
  • Installers changing a product without notification.
  • Holes not being cleaned according to approval documents.
  • Chemical resins not in line with the correct methodology.
  • Mechanical anchors not using the correct torque.
  • Anchors are too long for the thickness of the concrete.
  • Anchors being reused without approval.
  • Generating excess dust.
